ALTRAP.NET - Album Review - Euphon - Euphonic

ALTRAP.NET - Album Review - Euphon - Euphonic

Hip hop needs to get right. There are a number of people trying to make it happen. I've come across music by Murs (3:16 the 9th Edition), Little Brother (with production by 9th Wonder...who, as my friend said, is the next Pete Rock), and Euphon, among others.

What Common might do with his latest album, Be, is remind people why we love hip hop. He is somewhat mainstream, most definitely respected, and his album might be the wake-up call we need. My hope is that the streets will begin to demand better than this shit we are spoon-fed and told to like. The supply is there, for some reason, we are lacking the demand. Heads need to wake up and realize what's going on.

Hip hop has been bought and sold. White folks are running this shit. Some tall Israeli, is running this rap shit, eh, Mos? People, I implore you!!! Stop giving in to the stupid ass Cassidys, Chingys, Ying Yang Twins, and all of the other Rin & Tins of this rap "joke". It is not even a game, it is definitely not art. This garbage has permeated our culture and we accept it; almost crave it like we crave babies with "good hair"

Stop.

Lets get back to the roots...(The Roots, Tipping Point, fucking amazing!!)

We must reclaim hip hop music, reclaim the voice of our culture. THEY cannot speak it and fuck THEM if THEY cant understand it. These are our lives we are talking about!!

Like Murs spoke about, why are the audiences for these groups mostly white? Why are less and less Black folks showing up to support true ARTISTS? White rappers who have talent are going to do better than black rappers with talent because the white kids buying 80% of hip-hop music are going to relate to the white face they see in front of them. Where is the love and support for black hip-hop artists?

What the fuck people? You spend $100 to see Jay-Z, a man who has said he has DUMBED DOWN his lyrics because that is how much he thinks about YOU. Yet, you can't check out the local set with the men and women creating true art, spitting real vocab, real knowledge, painting real pictures of our reality? You might have never heard their names, but would it kill you to check em out?

Get it together people, or fuck it, leave it alone and the true children of the culture will take care of it.
Check out this link, it is a review of group Euphon.

Real hip hop folks, for real....

Hey luv...I SO feel the post. Here, in ATL, if "CRUNK" isn't in the name of the song, they will have NOTHING to do with it. That damned Lil John *sighing heavily* Still, on a positive note, I copped the Common "BE" and man...it moves me like Metamucil. 11 tracks of beautiful, soulful, REAL Hip Hop! Keep doing your thing, sister
